Interview with KoreaIT Students

Please introduce yourself.
“Hello, I am Hyo-yeon Yang working for the QA Team of Inka Internet Co., Ltd..”

What motivated you to enter the Korea IT College?
I heard that I can learn skills that can be applied right in the field along with quick employment. I wanted to become a security expert, an essential job in the modern society, and I was admitted because I was able to get a four-year degree in three years.

What is the most helpful part of your school work?
I think it is a practical experience that can be accumulated through practical education, information security-oriented curriculum, generous feedback from professors, and projects that take place on campus.

What projects did you participate in when you were in school?
In my second year, I created an intrusion prevention system using a vaccine using machine learning and a next-generation firewall as a long-term project. It was my first project, but I did not have much difficulty using the theories accumulated through the lectures and quick feedback from the professors. As a short-term project, we created an Android app that can control Wi-Fi and control cameras with MD-M (Mobile Device Management). It was very helpful in understanding the structure and internet protocol of Android. In the 3rd grade, I built a highly secure cloud using the ZeroTrust model as a long-term project. I was able to improve my level of completion by taking a class from a professor who knows cloud well, which is emerging as a trend. As a short-term project, we have created a web server that can be used anywhere on the web and mobile.
Please describe in detail the work you are (or will assume) in the company where you are currently employed.
We are in charge of quality assurance activities for all security software products, process improvement, test scenario planning/writing and testing, and CC/GS.
What are your aspirations in the future?
Security is an occupation where you always have to study and be nervous. As I study more about security myself, I want to improve and manage programs that are lightweight and highly secure.
What is the story you really want to tell your juniors?
I would like to tell you that if you have a desire to do anything, you can do anything. I also entered admission without knowing anything, but now I have a good result. If I do not give up and believe in myself, there is nothing that cannot be done. So do what you want to do while believing in yourself
